ADVICE

How to maximize my time in high school?

  • Advice #1: Figure out where your skills work best in your area of interest. For example, I knew I always wanted to work in healthcare and be more hands-on with patients. Being a PA will allow me to get that patient interaction that I always wanted.

  • Advice #2: Life is quite unpredictable. You have to understand that your pathway can easily change and you have to be able to adapt. There’s no single, firm pathway to your career or goals.

  • Advice #3: Try your best to get an internship or a shadowing opportunity with someone in your field of interest. During that time, you’ll be able to grow in your passion for the field or realize it’s not for you, which is okay!

  • Advice #4: Do NOT compare yourself to others. This is YOUR pathway! Makes decisions based on what you enjoy and what will further your career. You should focus on your timeline and goals rather than other people’s progress.
